The Achievement:

The Achievement:
There are those who say the crucifixion of Jesus was a tragedy. I say it was an achievement, an accomplishment, a plan played out, prophecy fulfilled.
If Jesus would not have been crucified the way He was, the Old Testament would have been nothing more than fairy tales, and God the Creator of all . . . a liar.
If Jesus had not been crucified we would be damned. There is no way we could live under the law and God the Father and the Son knew that. Also if Jesus had not died on the cross for our sins, we could not call Him, Christ, Savior, Redeemer or Lord.
Jesus prayed to the Father, “If there’s another way, let’s take it. But not my will, Yours.” There was no other way that we could be saved.
Jesus made sure He was crucified on the day He was. The Pharisees didn’t want to kill Him on a Feast day, but Jesus made sure He was. At the last supper, Jesus tells Judas to go do what he has to, that is, get the ball rolling. In the garden when Judas shows up with the troops, Jesus tells them, “Let my guys go”. And, on the cross, Jesus gave up His Spirit; no one took it from Him. He chose the day, the hour and the second.
The death of Jesus was an achievement, a mission accomplished.
Without a death there can be no resurrection.
